UnorthoPop Popped Corn

Description

UnorthoPop is the unorthodox popcorn brand. The flavor for this popcorn was Gouda and Blackberry. A simple bag was requested for the type of packaging.

Context

  • Design was limited to 3 Pantone colors

  • All copy needed to be written

  • Logo for the product and parent company needed to be designed

Problem

  • All 3 colors need to work together

  • Packaging needs to fit product name

  • Photos of the ingredients used

  • Copy needs to be interesting

Solution

Utilizing unusual typography, odd shapes and sharp angles made the packaging stand out. Large photos of the food in the foreground provide a fun contrast. The original design for this bag featured green berries and pink cheese. While that design was enjoyable, it did not fully solve the problem. Adjusting the colors for the berries and cheese to be closer to reality made the design more compelling.
